In warmer days, you can relax outside in the castle’s courtyard, while in colder days you can make yourself comfortable in our Belvedere overlooking the castle’s courtyard and the village of Štanjel.

Breakfast and Brunch

Our homemade breakfast and brunch consist of; yogurt with granola and fruits, homemade jams, cold cuts and cheese from Q Komel selection, warm drink of your choice, home made juice and rainwater from Karst region.

Kitchen

Homemade, authentic and extremely delicious are the words that describe the dishes prepared at our Bistro Grad Štanjel. In order to be able to provide you with dishes made of freshest and best ingredients of the region, we love to adapt our selections to every season and we therefore always prepare seasonal dishes that are continuously changing.

Prosciutto tasting and visit of prosciutto house

Tasting of the Q Komel 20+ prosciutto accompanied with a glass of Teran wine and rainwater from Karst is 7.5 € / per person (for groups bigger than 15 persons). Visit of our Old Prosciutto-house is possible in the village of Kobjeglava 3km away from Štanjel. Advance booking is required.

The Štanjel village

Štanjel is one of the oldest settlements in the Karst Region, known for its old village centre and medieval castle ambiance. Ferrari garden and the small, narrow streets and of this little mountain village make you feel like you were walking through a fairytale.

Wedding ceremony

The Ferrari garden offers a few wedding ceremony locations to choose from. You can say  ‘I do’ on a romantic island in the middle of a stunning pond, or on a huge meadow in the middle of the garden or at one of the terraces overlooking the beautiful Vipava valley and the surrounding hills.

Wedding reception and party

For your wedding reception you can choose between our various locations in the medieval castle surroundings. The reception can take place in the stone hall of the medieval castle, in Belvedere overlooking the castle courtyard and the village of Štanjel, or simply in the meadow under the pines and millions of stars. We do not have any pre-arranged wedding menus are not readily available, but they can be assembled based on your wishes and preferences. On the day of the wedding we combine forces with Gostilna Kobjeglava (our second restaurant) and together we make sure you are provided with the most special culinary experience on your unforgettable day. Capacity: 40-140 guests

Wedding planning

Our main goal and wish is to make your perfect day a really unforgettable one, thus collaborate with AK weddings, a wedding planning company. They will take care of the styling and decoration to the smallest detail while listening to every single wish of yours.  Also, if you would need any extra help with the planning the coordination of you wedding, they can take care of that as well.

Preparations for your day

Your special day can start in the calming and timeless castle’s ambiance. You can get ready in our private room with your closest friends and loved ones.

Celebrations

The idyllic castle environment is perfect for intimate birthday parties, family celebrations and various unforgettable events. Organization of private events is also more than welcome.

Business meetings

The Grad Štanjel with its three different halls, is suitable for formal as well as informal business meetings or teambuilding social activities. They can start as early as breakfast time and end with a late lunch or dinner with a party.

Enogastronomic events

Throughout the year we participate in two traditional culinary events in the Karst region. In April and May, we prepare a special asparagus menu for the Month of Asparagus. While during October and November, we pamper you with a special menu for the Month of the Karst region cuisine.

Feast of St. Martin

On St. Martin's weekend in the castle’s courtyard a huge enogastronomic event takes place. Karst winemakers present their wine, while local chefs take pride in creating a great culinary experience with lots of prosciutto and cheese offerings.
